La ville de Montréal rayonne de 137 points d’accès à Internet sans fil publics et gratuits. Ce prodige est rendu possible par le travail des volontaires de l’association Île sans fil (ISF), et grâce à la participation de nombreux cafés, magasins, organismes et individus.
Sur la devanture du CaféO, à la croisée de Rachel et de St-Denis, brille fièrement l’écusson d’ISF. Ordinateur portable sous le bras, les clients entrent dans l’estaminet, assurés d’une connexion de qualité. En deux frappes de clavier et un clic, le visiteur se trouve projeté sur le Web à la vitesse grand V.
Pour commencer cette vidéo, Sébastien, propriétaire du CaféO, partage avec nous les motivations qui l’ont poussé à offrir l’Internet sans fil d’ISF. Dans un deuxième temps, Robert Crecco, le “serial installer” du groupe, recueille le témoignage (en anglais) d’un client de passage (un autre Robert).
Enfin, les deux journalistes en herbe se retrouvent face caméra pour parler (en anglais et français) de la pluie, du beau temps et d’Île sans fil au CaféO.
