Trois jours après l’équinoxe d’été le lys blanc fleurit un peu partout sur le territoire québécois. Ce n’est pas une particularité du climat régional, qui ferait pousser 
spontanément ces liliacées, mais juste la fête annuelle du Québec qui met à l’honneur le drapeau national.
Le peuple québécois semble retrouver avec amour ce symbole de sa francitude. Ce sentiment se traduit par une vague de bleu et de blanc qui envahit les rues des villes et village de la belle province pour la St-Jean. Sur les voitures, aux balcons, aux fenêtres, sur les toits et dans toutes les mains le fleurdelisé est brandi fièrement vers le ciel.
Au classement des fleurs de lys les plus originales, ou les plus portés, nous retrouvons le dessin colorié sur la joue et la coupe de cheveux taillée en bleu. La garde-robe comporte obligatoirement le chandail, les chaussettes et caleçon illustrés de lys sur fond bleu. Pour les plus rebelles, la fleur de lys est parfois remplacée par la fleur de chanvre indien.
Comme un superman, de nombreux Québécois endossent leur drapeau sur les épaules. Souhaitent-ils s’envoler vers les étoiles ? À la Jack Bauer, peut-être se sentent-ils invincibles pour 24h00, le temps que le Québec prenne conscience de sa particularité sur ce continent anglo-saxon.
Après la défaite du Parti Québécois d’André Boisclair aux dernières élections, il est certain que la nation québécoise ne prendra pas son envol cette année. Et ce n’est pas Jean Charest, premier ministre du Québec, qui dira le contraire, alors qu’il se réjouit d’avoir sa fête le 24 juin, le même jour que “son pays”.
Le coup du sort fait que le drapeau en berne du Canada croise pour cette journée le drapeau en joie du Québec. Destin ou fatalité ?
Pour ma part, j’ai adopté le look superman pour la St-Jean avec le drapeau format géant attaché dans le cou!!! Mais ce n’est pas tout…bien sûr que non!! J’avais aussi un drapeau à la main et quelqes fleurs de lys dessinées sur les joues!!!
