Les Cowboys Fringants est un groupe québécois de musique folk à saveur de rock et de country. Leur engagement pour, notamment, l’indépendance du Québec et l’environnement, provoque un grand engouement au Québec, particulièrement auprès d’un public jeune, majoritairement âgé entre 15 et 30 ans (cf. définition Wikipédia).
Brocardée lors du dernier Bye Bye sur Radio Canada, la gang de chanteurs s’est finalement vu consacrer par RBO. Les Cowboys Fringants est l’un des groupes qui a marqué 2006, à la hauteur du phénomène Mes Aïeux. On retrouve justement le même ton mélancolique et désenchanté chez ces formations musicales.
Le succès des fringants monteurs de chevaux dépasse les frontières du Québec, jusqu’à envahir la vieille Europe. L’association ”Les Cousins Fringants” s’est en France, pour la promotion de la culture québécoise, et surtout pour communiquer la passion de ses adhérents pour le fameux groupe de la belle province.
