Le mois de mars débute, et malgré la douceur exceptionnelle de cet hiver, il fait assez frais aujourd’hui (entre -5°C et -15°C). Comme dans la plupart des foyers québécois, le chauffage tourne à plein régime.
Le système de chauffage est majoritairement électrique, plus particulièrement en ville où les feux de cheminée se font rares. Les appartements possèdent des résistances électriques dans chacune des pièces. Par exemple, il est possible de lire un magazine dans les toilettes, les pieds au chaud.
Comme son nom l’indique aisément, Hydro-Québec est la société qui fournit l’électricité au Québec. Quitte à choquer quelques personnes, il est important de souligner que les factures d’électricité ne sont pas élevées dans la belle province. Preuve à l’appui avec l’indice comparatif des prix en Amérique du Nord, qui place Montréal en 3e position, juste après Winnipeg et Vancouver.
Il suffit de se passer la main le long d’une fenêtre ou d’une porte pour se rendre compte que des efforts d’isolation pourraient être effectués dans les appartements de Montréal.
Le titre de cet article n’est pas si provocateur. D’une part, si l’électricité coûtait davantage au Québec, les résidents feraient plus d’effort pour diminuer leur consommation électrique. D’autre part, si les gouvernements, provincial et fédéral, donnaient des incitations financières aux propriétaires, on trouverait certainement plus de double vitrage. Surtout, l’environnement ne s’en porterait pas plus mal.
Alors, on l’augmente le prix de l’électricité ?

Le problème c’est l’étanchéité. Tu sais, il existe du “caulking”. Ça s’appellle du Mono.
Tu sais, l’électricité produite au québec est produite de façon beaucoup plus propre qu’ailleurs d’où le nom HYDRO(pour hydroélectricité)QUÉBEC. Le québec produit assez d’électricité propre pour en revendre au USA donc à moins que ai des actions dans une usine de double vitrage je ne comprends pas trop cette plainte

Plus sérieusement, c’est difficile de parler réellement d’énergie propre. Oui, l’hydro est plus propre que l’énergie fossile. Mais, elle a quand même un impacte environnemental et sociétale. Il suffit de jeter un coup d’oeil en Chine, avec le barrage des Trois Gorges sur le fleuve Yang Tsé Kiang.
Pourla hausse des prix de l’énergie, on pourrait faire le parallèle avec le pétrole. Depuis que le prix à la pompe s’est envolé, on n’a jamais autant vendu de voitures à faible consommation (style Toyota Yaris). Félicitation au Québec qui est en tête pour cette tendance.
Penses-tu que si le prix de l’essence était restait bas, les Québécois (et les autres)penseraient à laisser leur 4×4 et gros pick-up ? Je n’en suis pas certain.
Avant j’habitais dans un loyer avec tout inclut: eau, chauffage, etc! C’était super, j’utilisais sans crainte! Des douches longues, du chauffage à plein régime. Pas trop bon pour l’environnement ok, mais bon pour moi! Maintenant dans mon nouvel apart, c’est moi qui paie la facture d’hydro! J’y pense souvent… C’est un bon “incentive” à raccourcir la douche, à fermer le chauffage et mettre un chandail de plus au lieu! Mais bon. C’est vrai que c’est pas si cher si on compare aux autres, mais on aimerait toujours payer moins! It’s just natural!
Question difficiles car j’ai des arguments qui me font pencher des 2 côtés.
L’électricité n’est peut être pas assez cher mais le total que je paye en impots, taxes et frais d’utilisations l’est parfaitement.
Le “problème” du prix de l’électricité n’existait même pas avant la déréglementation de ce marché il y a quelque années, ce qui permet l’exportation vers les USA de nos surplus. Avant on les envoyaient a l’alcan et autres grosses industries ce qui créait de la richesse et des emplois.
Je crois par contre que vue les multiples hausses demandées par Hydro et acceptée par la régie de l’énergie, la tendance au rattrapage est une évidence. En fait, si je ne me trompe pas, ces hausses correspondent environ à l’inflation + 2% par année environ. Conclusion, le prix va monter …
Espérons maintenant que ces nouveaux revenus seront bien utilisé par “La machine” et nous permettronts d’augmenter notre productivité et d’accélérer ou d’améliorer notre capacité de développement. Ou du moins de soigner mon père et les autres qui attendent à l’hopital…
Je suis à Montréal depuis un mois et j’attendais la facture d’électiricité avec crainte, habitué aux factures Francaises et étant donné que j’ai chauffé plus que ce dont j’ai l’habitude de chauffer en France…
J’ai été très surpris effectivement de voir le prix de la facture et j’ai eu un peu le même raisonnement que toi…si c’était plus cher, on pourrait économiser beaucoup d’énergie ! Je suis même choqué de voir mes collocs ne jamais éteindre la lumière !
Et quels sont les taux d’impositions en France et la taxe sur vente et services?
@Brem: la taxe sur vente et services est de 19,6% en France. Pour les taux d’imposition, c’est un peu compliqué, avec les cotisation social, chômage, retraite… on arrive à 50% des revenus.
Chez nous c’est la TVA (Taxe sur la valeur ajoutée) qui est de 19,6%.

@Brem: les histoires d’argent remontent à la surface sur les différents candidats. Nos élus peuvent avoir des maitresses et prendre de la drogue, mais ils n’ont pas le droit de gagner d’argent. Le sujet est tabou. C’est exactement l’inverse de l’Amérique du Nord. Marrant.
