Cette semaine, Montréal a reçu la visite d’une nouvelle tempête de neige. C’est assez rare cet hiver pour le noter. L’espace d’un instant, juste avant le passage des engins mangeurs de neige, la ville était étincelante et recouverte d’un beau manteau blanc.
Ce retour en force de la neige a donné le goût au Québécois d’enfiler leurs skis. Cette fin de semaine, ils étaient nombreux à encombrer les routes pour dévaler les pentes. Les quatre roues avaient chaussé leurs plus beaux pneus neige pour gravir la montagne.
À moins d’une heure de Montréal, le Mont Saint-Sauveur reçoit une partie de ces aficionados de la poudreuse. Les plus courageux et les plus fortunés seront allés un peu plus loin, en direction de Mont Tremblant.
Deux forfaits de ski, gracieusement offert par un loueur de voitures, ont finalement décidé notre caribou de se rendre à St-Sauveur. En ce dimanche de février, le ciel était lumineux, et la température plutôt clémente (à peine -10°C au compteur).
Le Mont Saint-Sauveur est une belle petite station de ski familiale. Le service aux pistes est irréprochable. L’attente ne se fait pas sentir et la neige est bien damée. Le domaine est assez restreint. Avec le Mont Avila voisin, St-Sauveur arrive quand même à offrir une trentaine de pistes.
Pour ceux qui seraient à la recherche d’un chalet en plein coeur d’un domaine skiable et non loin d’une grande agglomération, St-Sauveur pourrait être le lieu idéal. Ce n’est pas ce blogueur qui dira le contraire. Il vous faudra débourser un peu plus de 300.000 $ pour acquérir une telle demeure, avec deux chambres et deux salles de bain. À vos portefeuilles !

Tsss-tsss, Christelle… Une montréalaise qui ne fréquente pas la montagne sur deux planches de verre, ça n’est pas sérieux. Fais-tu du ski de fond, au moins? Ou de la raquette à neige? Foi d’immigrant, l’hiver québécois est bien trop frette et bien trop long pour ne pas en profiter à plein poumons!

J’en profitais bien quand je vivais dans mon petit village natal (Blanc-Sablon)… Je faisais du ski de fond, de la raquette, des excursions en motoneige, du camping d’hiver, de la pêche sur glace, etc!
Mais en ville l’hiver est si différent de ce à quoi je suis habituée! 2 jours après une tombée de neige c’est tout brun/rammassé par de gros camions! Pour voir de la belle neige fraîche et intouchée il faut faire des miles!

En char à pétrole, ce n’est pas très écologique, je te l’accorde. Vivement les moteurs à crème solaire! 
C’est vrai que l’hiver de Montréal n’a sûrement rien à voir avec l’hiver de Blanc-Sablon sur la Côte-Nord, mais je crois qu’il est possible de trouver un bon dapaysement hivernal pas trop loin de Montréal. Personnellement, j’aime bien les Cantons-de-l’Est et ces centres de ski comme Sutton, Orford et Owl’s Head qui sont situés dans une nature époustoufflante! Il faut faire quelque chose de l’hiver…sinon c’est vrai que c’est long et…froid!! (mais rien à voir avec la Côte Nord!!!)
Ok oui Guillaume, il y a moyen de profiter de l’hiver ici! Mais moi ce qui me manque c’est simplement de sortir de chez moi et pouvoir apprécier toutes sortes d’activités! Pas avoir à rouler 1h pour y arriver!
Mon village est super l’hiver. Et la ville est the best in the Summer.

Le Mont Tremblant….quels souvenirs! J’ai passé un an au Canada pour ma maîtrise, à University of Ottawa (oui, c’est un peu l’ennemi pour les Québecois, mais je partais pour l’anglais alors bon…). Toujours est-il qu’on a fait deux sorties au Mont Tremblant et que c’était tout simplement extra, même si les pistes québecoises ne valent pas vraiment les pistes grenobloises
