L’autre jour, en regardant les nouvelles à la TV, Coudu est tombé sur deux transitions assez ironiques.
À la fin de la coupure publicitaire sur RDI, un petit programme très court 
montrait de belles images du temps des fêtes dans les années 50. Cette séquence fut ponctuée d’un « Le bonheur laisse toujours de bons souvenirs. Soyez heureux ! ». Moins d’une seconde après, le journal de RDI reprend avec des images de sang et de cadavres suite à un attentat en Iraq.
Cinq minutes plus tard, Coudu zappe sur CBC et arrive sur une autre coupure publicitaire. La réclame ventait les mérites d’une chaine de magasin qui propose des objets jusqu’à 60% moins chers. Il y avait un slogan du style « vous l’attendez avec impatience, il arrive pour les fêtes », avec à l’image un conteneur qui s’avance portait par une grue. Moins d’une demie seconde après, le journal de CBC reprend avec l’image d’un cercueil portait par des militaires canadiens.
Après avoir entamé la guerre en Afghanistan, les États-Unis ont laissé leurs alliés gérer la crise, pour se concentrer sur l’Irak (où l’argent est!). Le Canada est un des principaux fournisseurs de troupes pour ce pays. Dans les médias et au niveau du grand public, la présence des troupes canadiennes en Afghanistan semble de plus en plus décriée. Les retours de cadavres de militaires canadiens, morts sur le front afghan, n’aident pas à rendre cette guerre populaire.
Dans un premier temps, Coudu pensait que les images et leur montage n’étaient pas opportuns. Avec le recul, le choix des images retenu pour illustrer les nouvelles semble refléter la position des médias canadiens. Toutes les images ont une signification.

This weblog seems to get a good ammount of visitors. How do you get traffic to it? It offers a nice unique twist on things. I guess having something useful or substantial to post about is the most important thing.
How is it that just anybody can publish a blog and get as popular as this? Its not like youve said anything incredibly impressive –more like youve painted a fairly picture over an issue that you know nothing about! I dont want to sound mean, right here. But do you really think that you can get away with adding some pretty pictures and not truly say something?
